Roman Bread

It is great being able to get into the studio just about every day. I have been looking at photos I took in Italy in summer 2007, and making paintings from these.

This is a bread vendor I saw in a market in Rome. I am pretty happy with it.

I love the fullness of this painting. The bread background sends me this message of healthy, nurturing, and you treated the transparency of the counter with teh woman with a magical touch. The woman seems emotionally "there". Bravo!

Thanks, I remember the moment I took that photo, my first real day in rome, wandering and looking.

Very nice, Maryanne. This bread vendor is a bread winner...love the colors and the composition.

Thanks James, I am hoping to do more from my trip to Italy. It brings me back there.
