WIGGY

My painting (oil on board, 6x6 in.) of the Different Strokes Challenge this last few weeks. It was interesting, looking at the resource in values (light and dark), without giving these "heads" character.

Maryanne! This is gorgeous!!! Wow! I took the easy way out. You took the highroad. It's beautiful.

It really is nice, Maryanne. Nice liquid-looking brushwork. My favorite figure is the blue-skinned redhead; she looks so sculptural. But as Sheila said, props for doing the group instead of just one like I did -- sure was easier! :)

This is so dynaminc-- they appear to be in a rush hour crowd or a packed convert hall. I love the sense of movement and vibrancy.

Wonderful job with the challenge, Maryanne! You even got the reflections in the glass!

Quite nice, Maryanne. I admire the way you can capture the essence of the subject with such minimal strokes...that takes talent. This was a challenging challenge from Karin and I invite you to visit and check out my comments on this DSFDF for a little humor.

Great painting Maryanne. There is a sense of event, like they are all at a baseball game. Very lively.

Thanks so much for the encouraging comments. I am back to painting seriously after a few years off and on, and it is great to get such positive feedback.

This is very interesting. You manage to capture the static nature of the mannequin heads while infusing them with rich personality. Would I want to walk by that window at 2 AM?
